From Dramatic Publishing: Brian Dowd has spent the last 10 years of his life wrestling with an unrequited "something" for his best friend's sister, who happens to live next door. But each and every time he's spoken with Beth Finnegan for more than 30 seconds, he's ended up with his foot planted firmly in his mouth. Now, Brian's time is about to run out. With recent news that Jerry Finnegan's sister is getting married, the time has come for him to put up or shut up. Like John Wayne in The High and the Mighty, Brian has reached the point of no return. What's he got to lose- except the love of his life!

Brian: Mark Jennings
Beth: Jessie Holder Tourtellotte

Actors Mark Jennings and Jessie Holder Tourtellotte met in high school and planned to do this play together a decade ago. Then he went to the University of Tennessee, she went to the University of the Arts and then moved to New York, and they've fallen in love on stage several times without ever getting to do this lovely show (they did, however, manage to fall in love for real and get married to two totally different people who aren't in this show). Winding up in Knoxville at the same time, the time is now! Thanks to the generosity of Rush's Musical Services to give us a home for this heartwarming show, we're excited to make you laugh and bring you to this truly historic South Knoxville Place.

A bit about Rush's: Bob Rush opened the now-iconic music store in 1958 and ran it out of its home until it needed more space. It subsequently lived on Cumberland Ave and now has two locations, the South Waterfront location where you'll be seeing this play and the West Knoxville location. Steve Boyce purchased Rush's in 1998 and its legacy of excellence continues and is well known to the music educators of the area!

In a special tribute to all great band directors who started their careers at Rush's Music, Band Director tickets for this production will be discounted at $9.00, so if you're one of those crazy folks, don't miss out!

Note: Additional donations will be accepted at the door and after the show. Ticket revenue and donations will go to reimburse the self-producing actors and in part to contribute to the further rennovation of the Rush's Music performance space so that it can become a community staple in the performing arts in this area!

When you reach Rush's, there is parking available in the front of the store, though if parking runs low we recommend parking at the shopping center down the block. Once you park, walk down the hill to the right of the building and the performance space entrance is on your left.

Additional note: We believe this show to be thoroughly family friendly and fun for all, but forced to select an MPAA style rating we'd go with PG just to be safe.
